We are delighted to introduce the Red Lion Pub and Bistro as a potential venue for your wedding. We specialise in weddings that give you the personal touch, from the initial enquiry to the end of your special day. We have developed a series of inclusive packages that suit all. We only ever have 1 bride at a time.
We’d be delighted to show you around our suites. Relax in our award winning bistro whilst discussing your requirements , we will assist you as much as possible with your planning. You’ll be sure of a warm welcome, so do visit us and appreciate for yourself our facilities.
The Red Lion Pub and Bistro, dating back to the 17th century, is nestled in Derbyshire’s beautiful Peak District National Park and yet within easy reach of major road networks, it’s a truly unique venue.
Our recently refurbished suites provide the perfect venue for any special occasion.
The Ashover Suite – light & airy with its own bar, dance floor & amenities (maximum capacity – 90 (formal, seated) or 160 (buffet style with dancing)
The Harewood Suite a more intimate atmosphere, with countryside view & access to the terrace, ideal for smaller receptions (maximum capacity – 50 seated).
Whatever type of reception, be it large or small, we can fulfil your exact requirements with the utmost care & attention to detail.

Your Wedding Ceremony
We are licensed for civil ceremonies for up to 100 people.
The booking of a Ceremony Room includes a sound system for you to play your own music (subject to agreement by the registrar) and a ‘Responsible Person’ who is known to the Registration Office.
Room Hire
For those holding their wedding reception at The Red Lion Pub and Bistro and booking a complete
Wedding Package, the charge for hiring a room for the Ceremony (including chair covers) will be:
Sun – Thurs from £395.00
Fri – Sat from £495.00
