Set in 14 acres of beautiful gardens where the relaxing quiet of the countryside is a magnificent antidote to the sounds and stresses of the city. Shottle is within easy reach of Derby, Leicester, Manchester, Nottingham and Sheffield, Leicester, and only 2 hours from London. Ideally located only 30 minutes from Chatsworth House, recently voted Britain’s favourite stately home.

Shottle Hall has benefited from a multi million pound refurbishment creating a venue with character, style and charm.

All 8 bedrooms have been individually designed by internationally acclaimed designer and artist Adam Walkden to create their own distinctive personalities. There are 3 executive rooms, 3 superior rooms and 2 standard rooms. The bedrooms are fully en-suite and come with all the facilities you would expect are available within your room , including LCD colour television, tea and coffee making facilities, direct dial telephones, trouser press, hair dryer, ironing facilities, and Broadband Internet access.


The Devonshire Restaurant has already established a well deserved accolade for its contemporary cuisine that incorporates locally produced seasonal Derbyshire produce. With our seasonally varied menu and varied wine selection, you’ll find the food service and atmosphere right for every occasion.

Our 8 rooms are all individually designed and include the Jade room with an oriental theme, the Rococo room with its hand painted cloud effect ceiling and the Red room with the romance of the four poster bed all add to the charm of Shottle Hall.

Public rooms
A feature of Shottle Hall are the beautiful and extensive gardens which add to the feeling of tranquillity. The Gallery bar and courtyard areas provide an ideal place to relax with a continental coffee, a pre-dinner cocktail or to enjoy a hand pulled pint.

The elegantly decorated Library and Renaissance lounge are ideal for relaxing or meeting and you will find their ambience quite delightful. These rooms can also be used for weddings, meetings or conferences.
From October 2006 the Orangery restaurant will open providing a unique dining experience with views of the rolling Derbyshire countryside

Directions: The Hall has access from White Lane, which is off the B5023 to Wirksworth and our sign is clearly visible from the road. The A517 Belper to Ashbourne road is approximately a 1/3 of a mile from the property.
